Chiropractic is KEY to optimizing fitness!

I’m 21 years old, and I’ve been seeing a Chiropractor approximately every four weeks since I was just a couple months old. That’s right, I had my first chiropractic adjustment when I was a baby. It’s now my favorite 15 minutes of the month. I’ve never suffered an injury although I’ve been playing sports since I was six years old and maintain a very active lifestyle. I attribute most of that to my regular chiropractic care. The only reason I started seeing a Chiropractor, was because my parents knew the benefits of regular chiropractic care is key to elevating fitness.

Although Chiropractic is still not accepted as a legitimate practice by some healthcare professionals, research has absolutely proven it to be affective. Chiropractors are extensively trained in the assessment, diagnosis, prevention, and management of conditions relating to the musculoskeletal system. Although, they are proficient in visceral/non-musculoskeletal conditions as well. They are more than just head, neck, and spine specialists, which seems to be the common stigma. Chiropractors are qualified to perform adjustments safely and effectively.

Chiropractic is rooted in the philosophy that the body is self-healing; all the body needs is a little help to put everything back in place. The spine is often shifted out of place, these misalignments are called subluxations. Subluxations impinge on nerves, distorting critical nerve impulses to the brain and the rest of your body. Pain and tension result, often in other areas of the body since the central nervous system controls every cell in the body. With manual manipulation, Chiropractors can relieve pain and tension that really takes a toll on the body by shifting the bones back in in proper alignment. Poor posture, impact injuries, chronic stress, odd sleep positions, and many more common circumstances can cause these misalignments. Physical, emotional, and chemical factors can all contribute to subluxations.

Chiropractic Care and Adjustments

This increasingly popular form of alternative medicine has a plethora of benefits that people aren’t aware of. Chiropractic can also increase energy levels, improve balance and coordination, strengthen bones and muscles, and increase range of motion in addition to relieving pain from every day wear and tear. Adjustments allow individuals to resume or continue their personal routines no matter how active (or sedentary) they may be. Chiropractic care can help individuals get the most out of their fitness regimens. Joints and muscles are able to work more efficiently after Chiropractors realign the spine and relieve pain and tension. The body is able to move more freely without those restraints. Getting adjusted after a workout can also minimize soreness, injury risk, and allow you to return to exercise more quickly. When the body is properly align, muscles and bones have the chance to grow properly without the added stress or inherent weakness.

What I personally love about chiropractic care, is that it benefits everyone. Perfectly healthy and functional infants, adolescents, and adults see Chiropractors consistently. Patients don’t have to be sick or injured to see a Chiropractor. It’s actually more beneficial to receive chiropractic care before an injury in order to prevent that injury from occurring in the first place. Chiropractic is an affective and inexpensive form of preventative care as well as a successful treatment option. It’s always beneficial to see a Chiropractor and keep your body functioning at its optimal capacity.
